Most people have heard of a root beer float, where you put vanilla ice cream into a glass of root beer and get this really tasty beverage. I bet you are already imagining what a scoop of ice cream would be like in your hot morning coffee? The ice cream and coffee actually end up complimenting each other. Ice cream already has cream and sugar that most Americans add into their morning coffee anyway. Since coffee is normally served hot and most people can't drink it right away, adding ice cream to it to get the cream, sugar, and immediate cooling is a perfect hack for those that prefer their coffee served in a ready to go fashion. Make a cup, plop a scoop in, cover it up, and be on your way; or you can take the time to sip it out of your favorite mug as shown below.
Coffee Float
Ingredients
Organic Coffee - Sprout's Mountain Gold (darker coffee is preferred)
Alec's Tahitian Vanilla Bean - Organic Ice Cream
Organic Dark Chocolate shavings
Make a cup of coffee.
Add 1-2 Tbsp of ice cream, or gelato.
Garnish drink with dark chocolate shavings, if desired
Although, Alec's brand of ice cream is recommended for being overall delicious, less sugar, A2 protein, and regenerative, Talenti gelato is also another tasty option, but Alec's brand is much better.
It's that easy, enjoy!
Vegan Coffee Float (a.k.a. Vegan Style):
Ingredients
Organic Dark Coffee
Organic Coconut Ice Cream
Organic Coconut Milk (cans)
Blue Stripes Pure Dark Chocolate Bar shavings
Make a cup of coffee.
Add 1-2 Tbsp of coconut ice cream
1 tsp/Tbsp of coconut milk
Garnish drink with chocolate shavings
Its worth noting that coconut milk, the kind that comes in cans, should be used to add more cream to the vegan style Coffee Float. Add 1 tsp-1 Tbsp of coconut milk for additional creaminess. Coconut based ice cream or soy milk ice cream typically don't have the same level of creaminess that normal ice creams have, for this reason it is recommended to add extra cream via the coconut milk. We recommend the Blue Stripes brand of Dark Chocolate for being a balanced blend of vegan dark chocolate with nice chunks for easy nibbling and shaving.
